Taksensand Lighthouse

Distance: 14.20 Km

This guy wrote movie history!

Taksensand Lighthouse with its special location, right down on the coast, led to script changes.

Taksensand Lighthouse stands out from other Danish lighthouses, with its beautiful location right out on the coast and many a holiday photo has been taken of the unique lighthouse with its solid boulder plinth.

The lighthouse was built in 1905 and was originally 32 meters high, but in 1953 the lighthouse was shortened to its current 19 meters.

Taksensand Lighthouse has become even better known as the location in the film "In War and Love". Originally, one had to use a house where a ferryman could conceivably live in, but a photo of Taksensand Lighthouse and a location visit to the site decided the matter and something very unusual happened within the film world - a location changes the script; the ferryman was replaced by a lighthouse keeper.
