Nydam Tveir is clinker-built in oak, it is 23 meters long and 3,4 meters wide. The boat weighs 4,4 tons and has room for 30 rowers.

The special clinker building traditions are known only from the Nordic countries and the original Nydam boat, which was found in a bog by Sundeved, is the oldest known specimen of this form of ship. In December 2021, the clinker boat tradition was included on Unesco's list of living cultural heritage.

From May to September, Nydam Tveir can be experienced at sea, where it is taken on a rowing trip on Als Sund by the members of the boating association. This usually takes place on Tuesday evening around kl. 18.30, however, only when the weather allows it. Likewise, Nydam Tveir and crew often participate in the annual Culture and Sports Night in Sønderborg.

In the summer of 2023, there will be an open house in the boathouse in July and August on Saturdays and Sundays from 14-16, where members talk about boat, boathouse and clothes.

In addition, there is a year-round working workshop in Nausten by Sottrupskov, every Thursday from kl. 9-14.
