The history of a hotel on Als with its own traditions
On 21 October 1906 the first Nørherredhus opened in Nordborg. It burnt down in 1961.
With major financial backing from factory owner and founder of Danfoss A/S, Mads Clausen, the new Nørherredhus was opened in October 1967.
Nørherredhus operated under a number of owners until it was taken over by the present owners in spring 2006. It was refurbished to become a gem in an island setting.
During the refurbishment, many of the original fittings were preserved and incorporated into a modern retro style.
